Elizabete Vizgunova-Vikmane

Elizabete Vizgunova-Vikmane works as a researcher at the PPMI. Her work at the PPMI focuses on gender equality and social affairs. Elizabete has previously worked in several think-tanks and research centres in Belgium, France, Estonia and Latvia, focusing on international relations and security studies. She was particularly interested in gender security and societal security in her previous engagements. These interests are now being further explored in her PhD dissertation on gendered political discourse in Latvia at Rīga Stradiņš University. As a part of her academic track, she is engaged in several projects researching the role of gender in the societal value system of Latvia, and the role of LGBTQI+ community in Latvia, past and present. Elizabete is a native speaker of the Latvian language, and fluent in English, French and Russian.
