Forecasting Lithuanian mid-term human resource demand using data available at the IV quarter 2017


In 2014 PPMI designed Lithuanian mid-term human resource demand forecast tool. In 2018 human resource forecasting agency announced a tender to renew the forecast for the next five years using the latest available data, i.e. which includes the last quarter of 2017.

PPMI collected national data from the Department of Statistics and Centre of Information Technologies in Education. The data was used to calculate the supply of education graduates in the period of 2018 – 2022, and the complete set of aggregated data was fed into the complex forecasting model. 

As an ultimate result, the forecast – in accordance to educational and professional clusters – was ready and covered in the final report. Along with insights into the future of national labour demand, the results were publicly disseminated in website administered by the Ministry of Economy, , which covers forecasting and monitoring of human resources.
