Analysis of health system governance and financing reforms
The main aim of this project was to assess health governance and financing reforms implemented in Lithuania, compare them with similar reforms in other EU member states and provide recommendations as to how governance and financing of the Lithuanian health sector could be improved.
PPMI produced the following outputs under this project:
- evaluation of the current state of governance of the Lithuanian health system, focusing on functional review of state institutions involved in health policy-making and implementation;
- comparative analysis of governance of public and individual health care institutions in Lithuania and five other EU countries, developing an ideal model for the provision of health care services and providing recommendations on the implementation of this model in Lithuania.
The main project outputs were discussed with the main health policy stakeholders in Lithuania during the final project conference in February, 2013.
