PPMI to implement two studies supporting the evaluations of REA and ERCEA

In July 2018 PPMI commenced the implementation of the two studies supporting the evaluations of the Research Executive Agency (REA) and the Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) under the DG GROW’s Framework Contract for the procurement of economic studies and analyses related to impact assessments and evaluations. Both studies are commissioned by the Directorate General for Research and Innovation.

The objective of each of the studies is to undertake the periodical (tri-annual) evaluation of the operation of the respective Agency in the period from 2015 to 2018. Both evaluations will cover the 2014-2020 programmes delegated to the Agency and the legacy of the FP7 actions managed during the reference period. We will address the regulatory frameworks, missions and governance structures of the Agencies, assess the effectiveness, efficiency and coherence of their performances and develop a synthesis analysis, conclusions and policy recommendations.

PPMI is the lead contractor in the study supporting the evaluation of REA working together with CSES and IDEA Consult, and a fellow consortium member in the assignment concerning the evaluation of ERCEA, which is led by CSES. The results of the studies are planned to be available in the spring of 2019.
