European Commission publishes PPMI’s Evaluation of the European Week of Sport report

European Commission has recently published PPMI’s report for the Evaluation of the European Week of Sport.

The European Week of Sport is an initiative of the European Commission, taking the form of an awareness raising campaign to promote the multiple benefits of sport practice and physical activity across Europe. The priorities of the European Week of Sport are defined through focus themes identifying the areas where Europeans can be active: education, workplace, outdoors, sport clubs and fitness centres.

The evaluation study covered the activities of the European Week of Sport with the objective to gain better understanding of the Week’s effectiveness, efficiency, relevance, coherence and added value. The study covered the EWoS editions of 2015 and 2016, as well as the 'live' evaluation of the organisation of the Week in 2017, both at European and national levels. Evidence for the evaluation was collected through extensive desk research, stakeholder interviews and surveys, and case studies, that included participant observation of the Week’s events. The report includes recommendations for the improvement of the future editions of the Week.
