The competency management of heads of institutions in EU Member States

The purpose of the project was to carry out research on the management of senior civil services and the competency management of senior civil servants in EU Member States, as well as to identify proposals for developing a system of managing competences of Lithuanian heads of institutions to be applied in the Lithuanian civil service. The scope of this research included senior civil services, competency management systems and practices of senior managers in EU Member States (Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Slovenia). This project was implemented in the framework of a larger ESF-supported project that aimed at improving the leadership and managerial competencies of senior managers in the Lithuanian civil service.
